Spring Break

We stayed home for spring break this year. No trips to the beach. Sob. We have had a lot of fun though. I didn't have to make dinner one night all week! That is a vacation in and of itself. My sister Amy was here at the first of the week with her kids. We had Megan and Sarah over for a sleepover on Monday. We ordered out Chinese for dinner. Grammy and Bapa came too. Tuesday we met Aunt Amy and Thomas and went to the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point. My kids love their cousins and I am sad that they moved so far away. Rod brought home pizza benders for dinner. Amy's family had to fly back home on Wednesday. We have spent the rest of the week doing fun things as a family.

The weather was stormy and cold on Wednesday so we went to the Bean museum at BYU (free). I haven't been there in years and let me tell you, it smells just the same! It actually was pretty interesting and we caught a demonstration from one of the guides. Anna commented on how "pretty" the live tarantula was that he showed. However, my allergies kicked in. I guess big, stuffed cats have dander too. After the Bean museum we went to dinner at Osaka in Provo. They have the little rooms with tables where you sit on the floor. The kids thought it was fun to eat like you do in Japan. On Thursday the kids played with friends during the day and then we went to IKEA with Rod. The kids went into the Smaland playroom for an hour so it was almost like a date! There is nothing like a place where kids can be supervised for free, you can eat yummy Swedish meatballs for dinner, and then you can get a nice new non-stick frying pan for 30$.

Friday the weather was beautiful again (Utah weather) so we went to the Hogle Zoo. We had a great time. Everyone loved seeing the cute little baby giraffe. After the zoo we met Uncle Loyd at Cafe Med. It was fun to see him and hear about how everyone in Arizona is doing. Also, great Greek/Persian food. Thanks again for dinner Loyd!

Today (Saturday) we will try to get caught up on all the things we have ignored all week: laundry, grocery shopping, etc. Sundays are always busy now and Monday it is back to school so I guess spring break is over. Darn it! I actually might have to make dinner tonight. I have really enjoyed this week. It is a good thing summer is only a little more than a month away.
I guess I will just have to "hang in there" for another month and a half until summer finally gets here!

How fun is that. Sounds like you guys were really living it up. That's the way an at home Spring Break should feel. Glad you got to relax and not make any dinner. What a dream!

Isn't it amazing how nice it is when you know you don't have to make dinner! Making dinner is the worst part of my day. I dread it everyday!
Looks like you guys had a fun week full of animals...dead and alive. :)

We had a great time for our spring break as well. Thanks for having my girls over for a sleepover. They love to do that. Too bad we weren't around to go to the zoo. They love the zoo. The picture of William "climbing" the fence makes me laugh.
